AILA Lawyers Malpractice Insurance Program Safeguarding Attorneys

American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), a voluntary organization, brings together immigration attorneys who practice and teach immigration law, offering them professional services, continuing legal education, and information. As part of its mandate to provide risk management services to its members, AILA introduced the AILA Lawyers Malpractice Insurance Program, exclusively available to active AILA members.

Offered in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, AILA Lawyers Malpractice Insurance Program protects members against the risk of a client filing a lawsuit or grievance against their legal representatives. Attorneys can face client lawsuits or complaints, so they require professional liability policies that assist them in developing the best response to such allegations.

The AILA Lawyers Malpractice Insurance Program seeks to protect attorneys and their firms from incurring financial losses resulting from any alleged or actual mistakes committed while providing legal advice to clients. The Insurance Office of America (IOA), America’s 11th largest brokerage firm, manages the program. Hanover Insurance Group and AIX Specialty Insurance Company (member of The Hanover Insurance Group) have underwritten it. AILA members incur a cost for enhanced malpractice insurance coverage.
