A Snapshot of What One Can Expect at an AILA Annual Conference

As a legal partner at Fragomen Global, LLP, Rodney Malpert helps clients in a variety of industries with employee transfers and immigration issues. Before joining Fragomen, Rodney Malpert earned a master’s degree from Cornell University with an emphasis in law, and handled the worldwide U.S. immigration sector at Littler Mendelson. he also edited the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) annual conference book for many years.

The AILA holds an in-person conference every year (usually in June) where more than 3,000 immigration attorneys band together for 4 days to discuss the trends, litigation strategies, and current laws surrounding entry, employment, and status in the United States.

The last 2019 AILA Annual Conference on Immigration Law featured sessions with experts who discussed unreasonable policies set by the U.S. Department of Security, travel bans, and identifying fraud in marriage cases. The next AILA conference will be held in San Diego, California, June 17-20, 2020.
